RAPID WEIGHT LOSS CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUES. RAPID WEIGHT LOSS REFERS TO LOSING MORE THAN 1.5 TO 2 POUNDS PER WEEK, OR MORE THAN 1% OF YOUR BODY WEIGHT PER WEEK AFTER THE SECOND WEEK OF A WEIGHT-LOSS PROGRAM.

CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE BEGINNING ANY WEIGHT-LOSS PROGRAM.
LASTING
WEIGHT LOSS IS ONLY ACHIEVABLE THROUGH PERMANENT LIFESTYLE CHANGES, LIKE
MAKING HEALTHIER FOOD CHOICES AND INCREASING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
YOU
HAVE THE RIGHT TO REQUEST THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PROVIDER OFFERING THE
WEIGHT-LOSS PROGRAM.
YOU
HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK ABOUT THE POTENTIAL HEALTH RISKS OF THE PROGRAM,
INCLUDING ITS NUTRITIONAL CONTENT, PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT, AND EDUCATIONAL
ASPECTS.
YOU
HAVE THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE AN ITEMIZED BREAKDOWN OF THE ACTUAL OR ESTIMATED
COSTS OF THE PROGRAM, INCLUDING ANY EXTRA PRODUCTS, SERVICES, SUPPLEMENTS,
EXAMS, AND LAB TESTS.
YOU
HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE ACTUAL OR ESTIMATED LENGTH OF THE PROGRAM.
YOU
HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE NAME, ADDRESS, AND QUALIFICATIONS OF THE
DIETITIAN OR NUTRITIONIST WHO HAS REVIEWED AND APPROVED THE PROGRAM IN
ACCORDANCE WITH FLORIDA STATUTES.
The Weight-Loss Consumer Bill of Rights must be displayed in
bold, 24-point type on a sign and distributed in palm-sized copies in bold,
legible text. Weight-loss providers are responsible for producing and posting
the Bill of Rights as required.
